The Forum is the initial building that constituted the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center when it first opened in 1978 as the heart of a splendid community partnership between the private sector, religious sector and the County.
The Forum Building was designed by award-winning Architect, Clovis Heimsath, Austin, Texas. Acclaimed for impeccable acoustics, the building includes an Auditorium known as The Forum that seats a 378 people in its main level and balcony seating. The intimate room design was patterned after the small stage at Houston’s famous Alley Theater. It is an inspired setting for worship, weddings, concerts, lectures and a variety of community meetings and performance. There is a permanent Visser-Rowland Pipe Organ positioned to the right of the stage and a Steinway 7’ Grand Piano. The stage (dimensions: 23 feet wide, 22 feet deep) is surrounded by theater seating on three sides with a wall of windows behind it that overlooks The Centrum Garden and Fountain area.
The Forum also includes the Forum Garden Activity Room, a multi-purpose event space used heavily for a wide variety of functions including wedding receptions, large group meetings, lectures, study groups, and children’s activities.
The room accommodates approximately 100 persons comfortably for a seated dinner, 175 for a standing event and 160 for seated lectures. A small non-commercial kitchen is adjacent to the Garden Room for catering and serving for receptions.
A nursery and two pre-school classrooms with adjoining playground are located in the downstairs area and an upstairs classroom and library which is also used for small conference meetings are in the upstairs Forum.
